4. Search for ways to improve through global packaging analysis
In order to identify new ways of improving the company's packaging, the project group can also develop the use of checklists to evaluate existing solutions. These checklists can be used to assess dimensions other than those mentioned in the indicators in step 3. Ventère's ecological checklist is one of the ones we recommend, as experience has shown that it can be adapted to suit typical company issues. It proposes eight headings under which the company can create its own criteria for evaluating solutions, based on nine areas for consideration:
product utility ;
durability and repairability ;
hazardous substance ;
technological risk ;
pollution and waste ;
recycled content...
