If you are thinking of taking out a patent on an invention and want to discuss it with a partner before filing, ensure the confidentiality of these exchanges through confidentiality agreements. Similarly, unless you are expressly committed to secrecy, limit access (to the laboratory, test area, etc.) to members of the research or project team only.
