It's important to ensure that the various Value Stream Mapping stakeholders are comfortable with the mapping. Clarify the symbols used, and make sure they are understood by all. Be consistent in their use.
Building a Value Stream Map takes time. It's not unusual to devote several days to it. Make sure you factor this into your schedule, and check the availability of your contacts.
