2. Technical description of the innovation

The research project was carried out in partnership with various Veolia Group companies (Dalkia over the 2013-2014 period, Recyclage et valorisation des Déchets – RVD, and Veolia Recherche et Innovation – VERI) and the FCBA (Forêt Cellulose Bois-construction Ameublement) technology institute.

In 2013, when the research project began, there was very little feedback on the subject, with only a few publications in Sweden, Slovenia, Poland and Italy. In addition, most literature sources focused only on TTCR plantations on embankments, and not specifically on ISDND landfill sites. It therefore appeared innovative to find out the positive and negative impacts of planting TTCR on ISDND landfills in technical, economic and environmental terms.
