The fight against global warming, resource conservation, recycling and reuse, relocalized economies, autonomous and renewable energy supplies... these are just some of the sustainable development issues highlighted by civil society and environmental regulations.

Methanization, which consists in generating methane from the degradation of organic waste, is a technique that responds favorably to these diverse challenges, delivering environmental, economic and regional benefits (figure 1 ).
