5. Influence of various external condition parameters on penetration

The filtration efficiency of a mask is represented by its ability to retain particles and microbes in the air. It is specified as an efficiency ratio and includes particle size, quantity of air filtered and operating time . From a fluid mechanics point of view, certain elements play an important role, such as flow rates, aerosol size, gaps between face profiles and masks, corresponding flow resistance, etc.
