6. Conclusion
We have described lipid nanovectors used as nanomedicines, with particular reference to lipid nanoemulsions and their solid derivatives. The core of these systems is crucial to their role as carriers. In fact, the lipids that make up the core have a wide range of physical properties, from crystalline to liquid to amorphous solid. It is therefore essential to characterize these states, which can influence the stability and biological interaction of nanoparticles, as well as their encapsulation properties and the release kinetics of molecules of interest. Lipid nanoemulsions have already enjoyed industrial success in cosmetics and dermatology, thanks to less stringent regulations than those applied to pharmaceutical products.
