3. Conclusion

The central role played by polysaccharides in various biological systems, and the rapid expansion of glycoscience, make this family of molecules essential for the development of new therapeutic solutions. What's more, the diversity of marine polysaccharides' origins (ecosystems and organisms) opens up an immense field of exploration for the discovery of new structures, often impossible to synthesize, and opens up new prospects in the fields of biotechnology and human health. An abundance of literature clearly demonstrates the potential of algal polysaccharides for therapeutic responses in major pathologies: cardiovascular, inflammatory, infectious and cancerous.
