5. Conclusion

Foams obtained from 12-hydroxystearic fatty acid tubes have many advantages:

  • they are produced from biomolecules and are therefore the result of green chemistry processes;

  • the method for obtaining fatty acid tube solutions is simple, reproducible and inexpensive in terms of time and energy;

  • tube solutions have optimum foamability, as they enable a very large quantity of foam to be obtained from a small quantity of solution;

  • Foams are stable over very long periods as long as tubes are present to stabilize them;

  • Foams are thermosensitive, as they can be stabilized/destabilized by adjusting the transition temperature between the tubes and the micelles;
