4. Conclusion

When it comes to treating hair loss, it's clear that a medical diagnosis must be made in order to treat the cause of what constitutes a pathology when hair loss exceeds physiological limits (i.e. a loss of around 100 hairs per day), or when pathogenic agents such as fungi are implicated. Medication treatments, of which there are only a few, are subject to clinical trials to demonstrate their efficacy; adverse effects may be observed. In the cosmetics field, marketing pitches must be carefully drafted, avoiding the use of certain terms deemed abusive. There are a relatively large number of active ingredients available, but the results are very disappointing. It is therefore important to consider new avenues of research to provide concrete solutions for many people whose quality of life is severely affected.
