2. Hair physiology

The hair follicle corresponds to an invagination of the epidermis (figure 1 ), a kind of small "sac" in which the hair is structured and its root inserted. 3 cell types have been identified: dermal papilla cells or fibroblasts, epithelial stem cells and epithelial progenitor cells .
