3. Conclusion

The introduction of extended producer responsibility marked a turning point in the management of used tires in France.

Six years after the start-up of the industry, the achievements are significant. Through Aliapur, the sector has been able to organize and professionalize itself, creating permanent jobs and promoting know-how. It has also created the reference systems and tools needed to understand and characterize the actual technical qualities of ELT products.

Today's diversified recovery routes, with some twenty applications in materials or energy recovery, are based on a supply of standardized and secure products, in terms of quantity, quality and regularity of supply.
