A few definitions of the key words "economy" and "system" may be useful for a better understanding of the subject.

One of Le Robert dictionary's definitions of "economy" is "the science of phenomena concerning the production, distribution and consumption of wealth and material goods in a human group".

But it is also, according to the same dictionary, "the organization of parts, of a whole," as well as "the proper administration of material wealth (of a house, a state)."
