Today, jet fuel is :

  • used to power aircraft equipped with turbomachinery;

  • essentially obtained, when of fossil origin, by direct distillation of petroleum, with a relatively simple refining scheme compared to that used for the production of land-based fossil fuels.

To ensure its safe use, it must comply with strict specifications guaranteed by ASTM D1655 standards. or DEF-STAN 91-091
