5. Conclusion – a challenge and possible solutions

The challenges facing aviation in 2050 are complex. They must meet environmental requirements, optimize traffic flows, adapt to the changing needs of the public, and ensure the profitability of transport. All of this is taking place in a world that is in the process of rebalancing the balance between traditional and remote activities, and in which the profound synergy between land-based and air-based activities is a given.

Against this backdrop, the general concept of the flying wing presented in this article offers an overture detailing the internal management of the aircraft, as well as its interfaces with the immediate environment. The avenues described extend current developments and offer a glimpse of a possible architecture for tomorrow's aircraft.
