Thus, the increasingly massive deployment of sensors, connected digital tools and real-time communications is driving a rapid increase in the amount of data collected and stored.

The maritime sector has tended to lag behind this technological trend, while other sectors (automotive, aeronautics, rail, etc.) have adopted it more readily.
