4.1 Standards and electrical panels

This heading mainly covers :

• distribution equipment such as transformers and switchboards ;

• protective devices, especially circuit breakers and switchgear.

The state of the art and the prospects for development of these materials and devices are very different depending on whether the electrical power distribution is carried out using alternating current or direct current.

A particular feature of on-board installations is the attention paid to cable and busbar networks, as well as to the physical location of the various switchboards according to power supply robustness criteria.
