To illustrate this phase of assessing uncertainties in electrical measurements, it's easiest to use an example that will highlight some of the influencing factors specific to the measurement of electrical quantities.

The example chosen is simply the measurement of a DC voltage on an electronic circuit in operation, using a digital voltmeter according to the following diagram.
