1.1 When evaluating measurement results

The uncertainty of the measurement process is assessed to ensure that it is fit for purpose. For example, in the pharmaceutical industry, we can imagine ensuring that the measurement uncertainty of a weighing operation is well below the tolerated limits of the dosage to be carried out.
