9.1 Don't think that R2 alone can validate a model
The coefficient of determination R 2 is not sufficient to validate a model. Indeed, while it shows that your regression line models your study fairly well, it doesn't show whether your regression passes through the origin (although this is a situation that can be physically expected), and it isn't powerful enough to detect the presence of outliers, or even an outlier level.
