3.1 Seizing new opportunities

Risk analysis is carried out in conjunction with opportunity analysis (cf. ISO 31000 § 6.4.2 "The purpose of risk identification is to seek out, recognize and describe risks that may help or hinder an organization from achieving its objectives. It is essential that the information used for risk identification is relevant, appropriate and up-to-date").

The risk-based approach should enable you to identify opportunities, whether they are directly linked to a risk (like two sides of the same coin) or emerge separately.
