This is décret n° 2001-387 du 3 mai 2001 , which governs the application of legal metrology in France. To be covered, a measuring instrument must meet the following four conditions:
It must be measured in a unit listed at décret n° 61-501 du 3 mai 1961 .
It must be used for a specific purpose (see Regulated uses in the sense of specific use).
