6.1 Control the test conditions you implement

To make the right decision, it is essential to understand the philosophy behind the test used. We can only remind you that each type of test is based on specific conditions (notably the normality of the parent distribution in many cases). Consequently, any decision taken when the analyst has not ascertained the conditions under which the tests are applied is a decision that cannot claim any statistical veracity.
