6. General conclusion

Traceability of a measurement result to national or international standards therefore guarantees equality between laboratories worldwide.

Never before has the old adage "Measuring is comparing" taken on such meaning.

The comparison is admittedly distant, but it persists and gives confidence in the value announced by a laboratory.

In the context of ISO 17025, product quality is closely linked to measurement results, and therefore to metrological control and connection to national standards.

It's important to remember that equipment, like all material, ages, so it's important to check periodically that it's in good metrological condition and fit for purpose.

Of course, we shouldn't exaggerate and put all measuring instruments in the same category. However, it's important...
