2. Selection, construction and practical implementation of experimental design tests
Among the plethora of experimental designs available, the Plackett-Burman (PB) design (Tool Validation of the robustness of an analytical method by Plackett-Burman design of experiments ) has gained widespread acceptance. This type of matrix has the advantage of involving a relatively small number of experiments compared with the total number of factors usually studied. For example, 11 variables can be studied in 12 experiments using a PB design (ASTM E1169-14).
