Given the high cost of these noble metals, manufacturers demand to know exactly how much of these materials are needed to minimize their concentrations during the oxidation of volatile organic compounds. In the particular case of these PGEs, working on the best means of putting them into solution also means ensuring their efficient extraction from used catalytic converters.
