3. Applications

The surface-porous particles are identical to conventional chromatographic supports in terms of grafted functional groups. Only the morphology of the support is modified, in order to improve kinetic performance. In this way, the same chromatographic conditions are applied in terms of the mobile phase, enabling the different fields of application covered by porous supports to be met. It is therefore not possible to give an exhaustive list of applications, bearing in mind that these PSPs are available with apolar (C18, C8, etc.) or polar (diol, amine, cyano, etc.) groups. Recently, PSPs have been applied in supercritical phase chromatography. As in LC mode, better kinetic performances have been reported for different types of compounds
