The Dependability approach presented in this dossier has demonstrated that, for systems in operation or under design, it represents one of the key levers for reducing the cost of ownership, while making a significant contribution to productivity gains in goods or services. This rational, structured approach requires potential users to take a global, i.e. systemic, view of the company, so as to include all the factors contributing to the successful implementation of the Dependability program. The wealth and variety of techniques and methods required for the development of a Dependability study make a cross-functional approach mandatory, bringing together all the company's skills.
