The ISO 9126 standard sets out the activities required to implement qualimetry. These are summarized in the diagram at 2 .

This standard defines six characteristics that describe software quality. These are :

• functional capacity ;

• reliability ;

• ease of use;

• performance (in the sense of efficiency) ;

• maintainability ;

• portability.
