Dead reckoning navigation

A navigation method that consists of estimating the position of a mobile object (land, sea, air or space; piloted or automatic) from its route and the distance covered since its last known position.

Inertial measurement unit; Unité de mesure inertielle

Electronic component included in the sensor family. It measures sensor acceleration, angular velocity and orientation using a combination of accelerometers, gyrometers and magnetometers.
