1.1 Control structure

A highly simplified and conventional diagram shows a gas flow q e coming from the furnaces, a large valve (GV) and a small valve (PV), regulating elements acting in parallel, a pressure measurement in the barrel P bar that needs to be regulated, a back pressure P downstream also measured, and a gas flow q s entering the manifold (figure 1 ).
