    Overview

    ABSTRACT

There is an increasing need for data and application hosting however this increase has highlighted two seemingly opposed constaints. Machines have to be rationalised in order to meet functionning and environmental costs and at the same time applications and data have to be perfectly isolated. This challenge is at the basis of virtualisation and consists in maximising the reuse of resources whislt at the same time providing a sense of having a dedicated environment. This article addresses this challenge by focusing local networks.
