9. Conclusion

Differential pressure flowmeters offer a reliable and sufficiently well-documented principle of flow measurement, so that any user can not only choose the most suitable flowmeter for his needs, but also calculate the associated measurement uncertainty a priori. The diversity of possible primary element geometries ensures that the right flowmeter can be found for the measurement configuration envisaged. However, this wide range of choices is accompanied by major constraints on the construction, installation and operation of this type of measurement. Here too, however, documentation and the associated normative framework ensure that, in the final analysis, the flowmeter will provide high performance and metrological control.
