A cryogenic radiometer is a cryogenic electrical substitution radiometer, which is cooled to very low temperatures using liquid helium. An electrical substitution radiometer is in fact a thermal detector that enables absolute measurements to be made of the power of optical radiation, by comparing it with an equivalent electrical power.
