3. Specific tachometers

Some tachometers are equipped with special sensors for measuring, for example, vibrations or engine speeds. In the latter case, which is relatively widespread, an electromagnetic sensor is positioned on the spark plug lead of a petrol or diesel engine to detect ignition pulses.
