7. Conclusion

It is thanks to the College, made up of the most authoritative individuals in the field of lighting in each member country, that the CIE has been able to develop its efficiency in three areas: stimulating research, liaising between working groups, and providing international information through its publications and quadrennial sessions.

The CIE is recognized as the highest authority on all aspects of light and lighting. As such, it occupies an important position among international organizations.

The International Commission on Illumination's standards publications and technical reports can be purchased from the Comité national français de l'éclairage (CNFE).
