6. International connections

The CIE has numerous links with other international organizations concerned with light. These include the long-standing cooperation with the International Electrotechnical Commission (see specialized article in this treaty). For example, the International Vocabulary of Lighting, a 360-page volume in 9 languages, was prepared and written by the CIE's authorized technical committee and published jointly by the two organizations, as an integral part of the International Electrotechnical Vocabulary.
