4. Other technical documents developed and published by ISO

To meet the varied needs of interested parties, ISO has been offering a diversified range of products for the past two years. It now offers the possibility of publishing as ISO documents which have been withdrawn early from the standard-setting process, either because it is difficult to obtain a sufficiently broad consensus to continue the procedure, or because the time required to complete the procedure is incompatible with market needs. These publications can, of course, subsequently resume the standards-setting process if a need arises. These documents are :

  • ISO - TS (Technical Specifi- cation): normative documents reflecting a consensus reached by a technical committee. One example is ISO TS 16949 for the harmonization of quality management systems in the automotive sector;

  • publicly available specifications...
