ingredient

Any substance or product, including flavors, food additives and food enzymes, or component of a compound ingredient, used in the manufacture or preparation of a foodstuff and still present in the finished product, possibly in a modified form; residues are not considered ingredients (EU regulation 2011/1169 of October 25, 2011).
