4.1.1 Physiology and biology

Plants are living beings, and as such, are subject to the conditions of the site in which they thrive to ensure their survival. The concepts outlined here are simplified, but provide a basic understanding of the constraints involved in using and developing plants.

The aerial system consists of the stem, branches and leaves. The role of the leaves is to absorb sunlight and use its energy (something that only plants are capable of doing among living beings)...
