Digital technologies are undergoing a lasting transformation in the way our cities operate today, with the aim of meeting the challenges of managing increasingly enormous metropolises. The new concept of the intelligent city, more often referred to as the smart city, is changing the way we think about how a city functions: in terms of housing, mobility and transport, energy management, public health, environmental issues, and in many other areas that have a direct impact on the daily lives of citizens, but also on urban policies.
