4.1 Define critical processes and flows
A company's operations can be likened to a succession of interacting flows and processes. These include, for example, production, financial flows, the order-taking system, etc. Mapping processes, flows and their criticality enables us to gain a better understanding of their interrelationships, and to identify those which are essential to maintaining business activity, and which must be absolutely mastered as part of the BCP.
