8. Regulations

8.1 Main regulatory constraints for the CSC chain

For collection and transport facilities, existing regulations apply. In France, capture facilities are regulated under the ICPE (Environment Code).

For gas pipeline transport, the regulations governing the transport of chemical products apply. Since 2006, French gas transport regulations have been modified by the decree of August 4, 2006 (published in the JO of September 15, 2006). Five fluid classes are defined. The CO 2 transported, if pure, could fall into class "C" of non-flammable, non-toxic fluids in the gaseous phase at ambient temperature and atmospheric pressure conditions.
