3. Collect data
Data collection is the most time-consuming part of the study. It involves the organization carrying out its Bilan Carbone® quantifying all its incoming and outgoing flows (materials, energy, services, etc.), its assets, its operations, the future of its production, etc., for example:
the quantities and characteristics of the energy consumed by the activity(ies) concerned by the Bilan Carbone® ;
the nature and quantity of products consumed (raw materials, packaging, consumables, etc.) and their carbon content;
characteristics of transport methods for goods, employees, visitors... ;
the types, quantities and outlets of waste or effluents generated ;
items relating to the depreciation of fixed assets, services,...
