6. Mistakes to avoid

6.1 Don't bias the risk analysis by excluding accident scenarios a priori, even if they are assumed to be extremely unlikely.

circulaire du 10 mai 2010 specifies the exclusion rules applicable to hazard studies, PPRTs and PPIs. The correct approach is therefore to carry out an exhaustive analysis in the hazard study, and then propose the exclusion of scenarios that meet the circular's criteria. The same circular reminds us that the low probability of an accident scenario is not sufficient to propose the exclusion of an accident scenario.
