7.1 Take the time to carry out a detailed risk analysis
The implementation of the Safety Management System is based on a detailed risk analysis. It is therefore essential to take the time to carry it out. For each phase of the manufacturing process, accident causes and existing means of control must be analyzed, accident effects determined and IPS factors (protection/prevention barrier) identified.
