Because of the uncertainties inherent in diagnosis, risk assessment or the choice of treatment technique, the solution to be implemented is highly dependent on the management of the assessment and negotiation phases with other stakeholders: the administration, neighbors, associations, the purchaser or site employees. Achieving the best problem/solution match involves :

  • consider all aspects simultaneously: environmental risks, long-term financial stakes, future uses of the site, civil and criminal liability and image risks;

  • pose the problem at the right time, if possible, anticipating it to avoid crisis situations that can lead to overestimation of the problem;
