7. Eventual dismantling

To date, there have been no cases of effective dismantling in Europe, if only because of the relative youth of the technology.

However, from the design stage onwards, it is important to consider what will happen to the plant once the treatment objectives have been achieved and the concentrations upstream (e.g. due to depletion of the source) and downstream satisfy the set objectives:

  • maintenance ;

  • dismantling with appropriate treatment of extracted reagents.
