3. Choosing risk analysis techniques

In general, risk analysis techniques must meet the following requirements:

  • they must be appropriate and adapted to the organization or situation in question;

  • The results must be presented in a clear and comprehensive manner, highlighting the nature of the risks and how they should be dealt with;

  • they must be traceable, iterative and verifiable.

The choice of methods must be justified. Analysis results must be consistent with each other.

Once the various analysis techniques have been identified, they must be selected on the basis of the following factors:
