Obsolescence, whether programmed or not, has a societal impact, particularly on customers. Consumers are on the front line when it comes to obsolescence. Not all consumers are affected by the same types of obsolescence. On the one hand, there is obsolescence as perceived by the consumer . In this case, the product is still in working order, but the consumer perceives it as obsolete. On the other, there is programmed obsolescence, which the consumer undergoes.
